"  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."  Acts 2:38

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1 What a wonderful scripture verse that reminds us ... there are no limits only possibilities with the promises of God's word.

Faith is more than religion. It's about a relationship between a person and God. Together, we can walk this spiritual journey, by seeking truth to set us free in the name of Jesus! Praying for people in the greater Los Angeles area, SoCal, and for our nation has been our burden for  a number of years. We therefore with joy keep you in our continual prayers. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the most uttermost part of the earth.  Acts1:8

From the time of Jesus' birth to the resurrection, the Lord walked among us full of compassion and great love for each and everyone. The word of God is rich with the teaching of his unfailing love for us. " Greater love hath no man than to die for his friends. John 15:15. How wonderful to know this message in times of discouragement and fear of tomorrow. We see the love of Jesus, when He carefully chose twelve disciples. We see the love of Jesus dying on the cross to fulfill His eternal plan for mankind. We see His love for us in his forgiveness of our sins. We see the love of Jesus everyday in the demonstration of sweet comforting words in the Bible that brings us peace.   " My peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you: not as the world gives do I give to you. let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27  Let us praise the Lord for his abiding love and for his wonderful peace in the midst of our storms in life. The apostles heard the loving inspiring words from the Lord, words that are true and faithful filled them with the blessed assurance.  As one disciple expressed,  "...didn't our hearts burn within us..." Luke 24:32

                         THE BOOK OF ACTS

(The Age of Grace in Jesus Name)

The historical account of the birth of the early church is recorded in the book of Acts by Luke  the  physician, a devoted disciple (Scholars agree around AD 63-64). The apostles were on a great commission to reach, Jerusalem, Samaria and at that time the ends of the world with the Good News.  Two prominent preachers journeyed throughout  Asia Minor to voice the plan of salvation to all who would hear the truth. The Apostle Paul evangelized the Gentiles and  the Apostle Peter whose evangelical effort reached out to the Jews to impart the truth as promised by God.  Many disciples and new converts joined them on their mission with great support and care. Paul's miraculous conversion brought hope and great blessings to the first century church.  Luke was a steadfast companion to Paul on these journeys. Paul looked upon him as the "beloved physician" (Colossians 4:10-14). Dr. Luke ministered with health care and witnessed to the people with his zeal for our soveriegn God.  The Spirit of God moved upon Paul as he taught the plan of salvation; repentance, water baptism in Jesus name, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost. The book of Acts testifies of all the wonderful works of miracles, healings and the fulfillment of the prophetic word inJoel 2:28 "...I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh"  speaking of the indwelling of the Holy Ghost to all who will hear and by faith accept this  promised gift.

                                                                                                                                Whosoever will let him come?

Many people were touched by the teaching of God's word in their homes, cities, and regions during the time - what is known as the Apostolic age.  Before the Lord's ascension he instructed the disciples to wait in Jerusalem until the arrival of the gift of the Holy Ghost, which fell upon them in the place of prayer commonly referred to as the Upper Room. A wonderful gift and blessing to all who were present; a count of 120 persons were in attendance (Acts 2). On that same day 3000 were added to the church. Oh, what fellowship divine and what grace covered all God's people. Their joy and Christian love for one another, and for this new beginning is demonstrated in Acts 2:42  "And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and prayers. The biblical gem found in John 3:16  reads asfollows: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him, should not perish but have everlasting life." And "Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free."  ( John 8:32)

The Lord took upon the sins of the world as the sacrificial Lamb of God. His redemptive blood wipes away all sin, and in the power of the name of Jesus there is salvation, healing and hope for all people created in his image. "What is man that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and crowned him with glory and honor" (Psalms 8:4,5).  The Lord  holds us close to his heart in  a spiritual embrace. We know we are loved by our God and Savior Jesus Christ.

Search and you will find there is no other answer to any of life's concerns - but to trust and call upon his name, and in that you'll  find the eternal reward. To Him be the glory, honor and  praise forevermore!

The blessing of prayer is a gift to all who are in need of change in their present concern. God will hear our prayers, touch our lives, and help us with the present concerns we face. WHY?  " Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."  I Peter 5:7
